Sue Wagner is a co-founder and Director of BlackRock, where she served as Vice Chairman and
Chief Operating Officer and was a member of the Global Executive and Operating Committees.
Throughout her 25-year tenure at the firm, Ms. Wagner led strategy and corporate development
and coordinated the firm’s strategic initiatives, including BlackRock’s mergers with PNC, Merrill
Lynch Investment Managers and Barclays Global Investors, joint ventures in Japan, China and
India, the firm’s initial public offering, and the launch of the company’s technology business,
BlackRock Solutions. She also co-founded and chaired BlackRock’s Women’s Initiative Network
(WIN) and sponsored the Women’s Leadership Forum.
Ms. Wagner was named among Fortune magazine’s “50 Most Powerful Women in Business,”
included on similar lists published by the Financial Times and Crain’s New York, and honored by
the National Council for Research on Women and the National Association of Corporate
Directors. She graduated with honors from Wellesley College with a BA in English and
economics, and earned an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago, where she received
the Distinguished Alumni Award. Ms. Wagner currently serves on the Boards of Apple,
BlackRock, Samsara and Color Health.
