2013

Founded By Wendy Diamond

WEDO was founded in 2013 by Wendy Diamond, an entrepreneur and humanitarian, with the aim of celebrating, supporting, and empowering women entrepreneurs worldwide. Wendy recognized the unique challenges faced by women in business and the need to promote gender equality in entrepreneurship, and thus WEDO became a catalyst for positive change. Inspired by a deep belief in the transformative power of women’s entrepreneurship, WEDO’s mission is to create opportunities, break down barriers, and uplift women in the entrepreneurial sphere.

2016

Hosted the first WEDO Summit

The first-ever Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) Summit was hosted in 2016 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. It brought together influential leaders, entrepreneurs, and advocates from around the world to discuss and strategize ways to advance women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. The summit served as a platform for inspiring conversations, networking opportunities, and the sharing of ideas and best practices to support and uplift women entrepreneurs globally.

10-Year Anniversary

Wendy Diamond

Dedicated to empowering women globally and promoting gender equality in entrepreneurship

Internationally renowned social impact entrepreneur, impact investor, humanitarian, and best-selling author Wendy Diamond is CEO and founder of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization.
Wendy is an advisor/investor in social impact disruptive technologies and women-led businesses in health sciences, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and virtual reality. She has authored 10 widely celebrated books, garnered three Guinness World Records, and has appeared in media outlets including Oprah, NBC’s Today Show, The New York Times, and Forbes.
